- It is important to note that while FAMs are often requested by our Hotels, the Group Sales Team gets many, many requests for FAMS. FAMS, while wonderful tools for the Hotels, do take lots of time and energy -- and do take the Sales Directors out of the office. We therefore need to carefully evaluate all FAM requests before agreeing to assist
- For FAMS to be successful, the following items should be considered:
- Airfare inclusions (either host all the air or provide an “air credit”
- How will you showcase your destination? It is difficult to sell an individual to a client without first showing them WHY the destination should be considered
- Will you partner with a DMC for transfers and to help curate local/cultural/wow experiences?
- Are you showcasing your hotel/destination in the right season? Trying to host a Fam in Low Season can often backfire
- Will spouses/significant others be included?
- What meals/activities will be included?
- Are you open to splitting the FAM with another Preferred Hotel in your destination to help offset costs?
- What is your target client demographic?
- How many clients are you looking to include?
