American Express Hotel Collection is made up of over 600 hotels across the globe. The Hotel Collection is perfect for the modern traveler, with offerings that include chic boutiques, pet-friendly stays, and trendy social spaces. They are comprised of upscale or deluxe properties that are handpicked with design in mind to help Card Members find a stay that fits their lifestyle. Available to Gold Card, Platinum Card and Centurion Members globally and allows American Express to provide those cardholders with another program/offering hundreds of additional booking options in primary and secondary global markets.

PROGRAM SELECTION CRITERIA

• Located in a market that reflects consistent growth
• Exemplifies a property fit within the product portfolios of existing American Express Travel lodging programs (FHR, THC)
• Offers product that appeals to Card Members’ relevant lodging needs and preferences
• Provides positive Prospect Shop experience (please note that not all properties will be asked to accommodate a Prospect Shop)
• Evaluation of third-party reviews and awards
• Demonstrates a commitment to deliver outstanding customer value and experiences to American Express premium Card Members
• Given the current environment, new additions to the 2022 programs may be limited in response to COVID-19. The evolving travel landscape, Card Member interest, and program needs will be taken heavily into consideration as part of the Selection process.

CARD MEMBER BENEFITS

Prospects must be able to deliver each of the following program benefits to the card members:

• Room upgrade at check-in, when available (certain room categories are not eligible for upgrade)

• Onsite Credit (minimum value of $100 USD) to spend on qualifying dining, spa and resort activities

PROGRAM TERMS

Applicants must be able to fulfill the following requirements, in addition to the Card Member Benefits.

• Rates must be loaded in the GDS (average daily rate starting at $150 USD)
• Must offer Best Available Rates (BAR)
• All room categories must be contracted
• No program blackout dates
• Property must comply with program requirements (mystery shop, rate audits, benefit delivery, etc.)

COST

Participation at this time is free

TIMELINE     (subject to change due to Covid)

October – Mid-Dec.:              Online application remains open for submissions   

Mid December:                       Deadline to submit application for consideration

January-February:                 Selections committee reviews applications

March-April:                           Final decisions are communicated to hotels. Contracting begins.
