CWT Meetings & Events is a family-owned company with over 80 years of experience with global headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. They are also recognized for their sister division CWT Travel, which delivers corporate travel management solutions globally with which Preferred Hotels & Resorts is also a long-standing partner.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has a strategic partnership agreement in place with CWT Meetings & Events, which previously covered North American and Asia-Pacific sourcing teams.  We are excited to announce that in 2020 we have formally expanded our partnership to include Europe so that we have global coverage for all CWT-ME offices and teams. 

This is a preferential sourcing relationship via Cvent intended to drive incremental meetings and events business to our member hotels globally from the CWT Meetings & Events meeting planners and their clients. We are recognized as a preferred partner, which has led to incremental leads and booking activities.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts will be listed as the NSO from the initial inquiry as a result of the preferred partnership.  By being copied on the lead as an NSO, this is a direct request to include our team in the response and with ongoing communication.  Please partner with the Preferred team to help you win the business for your hotel over the competition.

In the past two years, the CWT Meetings & Events team generated over 1,100 RFPs representing 336,000 potential room nights.  This resulted in over $ 2 million in contracted room revenue, a 26 % increase and representing over 8,500 room nights.  Their team has seen the benefit of our unique member hotel experiences around the globe, and given the previous announcements from Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt regarding commission reductions in North America, the Preferred Hotels & Resorts portfolio is in an enviable position to continue our growth through the support of our partnership.  

We are excited to see the results that will come from our partnership with the CWT-Meetings & Events European offices. 

BENEFITS & TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT

Preferred Hotels & Resorts member hotels will benefit from the agreement in the following ways:

  • All CWT Meetings & Events teams worldwide will be advised of the terms of this agreement, including the commitments and benefits to the parties

  • Increased visibility for member hotels on the CWT Meetings & Events venue sourcing tools (Cvent) with Preferred Hotels & Resorts clearly distinguished as a preferred partner.

  • Opportunity to engage with the CWT Meetings & Events team who are supporting their key Strategic Meetings Management and events clients. In light of our preferred supplier status, their teams are motivated to drive business to our member hotels whenever possible.  To increase your engagement, contact your Preferred Hotels & Resorts GSO team to determine the best opportunity.  A few highlights are indicated below.


    • In Europe and Asia-Pacific, Preferred is afforded preferential opportunity for office visits and presentations (subject to arranging appointments in advance and where applicable) as a result of our partnership. In these regions, contact the respective Preferred GSO to determine when the next opportunity will be available and the specific nature of the meeting.

    • In North America, many of their sourcing team are remotely-based aside from those located in their headquarters office in Minneapolis. This office is managed by Kate Nawracaj. Preferred is afforded preferential opportunity for office visits and presentations as a result of our partnership.  They welcome Preferred Hotels & Resorts periodically when accompanied by our GSO managing the Minnesota office, Kate Nawracaj.  If you would like to be a part of a future Preferred multi-hotel office visit, please contact Kate to determine the next opportunity. 

    • For the remainder of the remotely-based North American sourcing team, please contact the respective Preferred GSO to strategize on connecting with the appropriate individuals for your key client industries or geographic feeder markets.

    • As a preferred partner, CWT Meetings & Events team members globally are invited to our various Preferred Hotels & Resorts regional client events. Please refer to the Events Calendar and contact the respective Preferred GSO to discuss the client base targeted for the specific events of interest to you.

    • In 2019, our 50+ exhibiting hotels enjoyed a very lively engagement opportunity with an in-booth Happy Hour at IMEX America for over 40 hosted-buyers from the CWTME team

    • Also at IMEX America, Preferred Hotels & Resorts was awarded the distinguished designation of 2019 CWT Meetings & Events North America Supplier of the Year! Congratulations to our GSO team and all of our exceptional hotels for this noteworthy accomplishment.

  • Preferred Hotels & Resorts Member Hotels will be required to pay commission to CWT Meetings & Events at the rate of 10% upon the total gross for accommodations revenue only excluding VAT at the prevailing rate.


Please note that any existing agreement you may have with CWT Meetings & Events will not be affected by this agreement.
