Jim McPartlin

Jim began his career with the Walt Disney Company in 1985 in their management training program. Over 4 years he worked through all aspects of Food & Beverage, along with Resort Operations, gaining invaluable experience.
A circuitous route took him to New Haven, CT where he was given his first General Manager position with Holiday Inn in 1991 at the age of 29. By 1993 he was in San Francisco, CA and would spend the next 10 years with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants holding a variety of positions, including General Manager, Area Director of Operations, and Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development. He spent several years with W Hotels Worldwide, including opening the W Hollywood Hotel & Residences, Director of Brand Operations for the Western Region and General Manager for both the W San Francisco and W New York Times Square. McPartlin has also held senior level positions with Loews Hotels & Resorts, Andrè Balazs Properties and The Ian Schrager Company.
Jim received his Bachelors of Science degree in Food, Hotel, & Tourism from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Training has always been a passion for Jim. For 20+ he has been certified as a teacher in the Enneagram, which is a powerful gateway to self-awareness and understanding of others. It describes the structure and dynamics of nine personality types, opening a path to a more integrated and rewarding life. Jim believes that mentoring is the highest calling in leadership and has made it the focal point of his career.
He lives in New York City with Mike, his partner of 17+ years and their French Bulldog, Tank.
